During my tenure in education I have primarily worked in a progressive technology department that would deliver, design, install, and maintain multiple levels of technology to approximately 275 rooms throughout six regional locations.  A large part of my job was to teach the end user how to use our equipment and how they integrate technology in their learning spaces.  However, a larger part of my job was to design, build, and maintain technology based learning spaces.

 

It is through these experiences that I have learned so much but also have so much to learn.  Audio visual technologies are clearly merging with I.T. and as time passes this merger becomes very transparent.  As an educator, I find that the greatest challenge is teaching, sharing, and demonstrating how technologies, both old and new, are converging, merging, and sometimes mashing themselves head on into each other. 

 

Being able to work with all media, old and new, is important; however, being able to translate the practices takes the most skill.  It is that challenge that drives me, shapes me, and motivates me.  Finding a new and innovative way to make technology work for all is my greatest challenge.
